(The Unreal Universe has been self-published
and distributed in Singapore under the imprint name Asian
Books. It is well-received in the media and among the
general readers.The Unreal
Universe is still seeking a publisher to reach a global
readership.)
The Book
The Unreal Universe is an inquiry into the realness
of reality as reflected in the basic assumptions of
physics. It examines these assumptions using the Eastern
spiritual views of reality. In this sense, this book is a
study in "applied spirituality," similar to the ideas in
The Tao of Physics.
The Unreal Universe can be provided in an academic version (with the
technical details of the physics discussed in an appendix)
or in a philosophical
version with no mathematical details. The hyperlinked
proposals give you more details about both versions of the
book, its market and my credentials. If you find The
Unreal Universe in line with your publishing interests,
could you send me an email? If
you would like to tell me more about your publishing
interests, please use the following form.
If you would like to know more about the book, please take
a look at the summary of
the book (containing a preface and chapter summaries).
The Author
I am an experimental physicist from CERN, recently seduced
by the lucrative field of quantitative finance in
investment banking. As to my writing credentials, I am a
regular columnist for the Today newspaper in Singapore and
for the well-known Wilmott Magazine.
My columns and selected articles are available online.
As a physicist, I have always pondered over the
philosophical assumptions of modern physics. After my ten
year long exploration with CLEO at Cornell University and
CERN in Geneva, I worked with neuroscientists on analyzing
and understanding brain signals. Thanks to this diverse
research background, I came to appreciate the role of
perception and cognition in physics and its theories--an
insight that enhanced my understanding of both science and
spirituality. It is this insight that I am inspired to
share with my readers.
Introduced to the Eastern way of thinking early in life, I
was captivated by the Advaita view that our perceptual
reality is a limited projection of a larger truth into our
sensory or cognitive space. A similar view is now echoed in
modern neuroscience. This ancient spiritual wisdom
rediscovered in a scientific context forms the backbone of
The Unreal Universe.
My credentials can be found in my cv. A biographical sketch also is available.
